October favourites

Now that Halloween is over and done with it's time to start singing Christmas carols and get into the festive mood. But before we do let's look back on the month we had and I'll share with you my hits & misses and my highs & lows. Firstly trains have been a big past of my month, I seemed to be on them more than usual and spending a lot more on them. Either way, train journeys really give me inspiration for blog posts so all in all not that bad. Moving onto the good stuff; products!

I bought this beautiful makeup bag back at the start of October in a lovey little shop called Glow and co. They have a few dotted around the country and they practically sell everything, from candles to jewellery to makeup bags. Handy little shop in my local village! This medium sized beauty hamper was £11.00 and it came in a large 'wash bag'  size and a little card holder size. Also in many different variety of patterns and designs including cats, pugs and deer! So cute, and so handy to keep in my handbag!

I found this lovely little second hand hat in my local Barnardos charity shop. It is a dark navy colour with an adorable little bow on the side. And it's small enough to fit my tiny little head which is fab! I bought this for £6.99 which is a bit pricey for a charity shop but I just couldn't resist!

Keeping with the clothing theme I've been really loving my black brogue shoes which I did by primarily for work but they are so comfy and they seem to go with everything that I might have to buy another pair to last me though the winter! I got these from River island for £12.99 which is a bargain!

Moving onto makeup and beauty items, there hasn't been a whole lot I've been really loving besides a few things. One being my go-to dark berry lipstick that I wear pretty much everyday. It's called Begulded by Topshop and at £6.99 its pretty cheap hydrating lippy. The other thing has been the Too Faced eyeshadow pallet in Boudoir Eyes which consists of 9 coloured shadows ranging from light to dark and matte to shimmery so an all round day to night pallet. It's on the little pricey side at £29.00 a pop but well worth it for 9 beautiful shades, in my opinion. My favourites being 'Satin Sheets', 'Lap dance' and 'Voulez-Vous' all perfect colours for the autumn/winter period!

I hope you enjoyed this months favourites, now bring on the Christmas shopping and mulled wine!
Post soon,
Danielle xoxo

Bluesday Tuesday | Retail therapy

After falling ill with a cold on Sunday I've been feeling really rubbishy everyday since, I've been trying to keep my mind off it by working more hours at work but a little shopping usually does the trick for me.

Only a few bits and bobs to show you today and so far I'm really enjoying all these items!

3 beautiful products, that do 3 completely different things

Boots ingredience Camomile & lemon shampoo and conditioner, I've been on the hunt for cheap clarifying shampoo for my bleach blonde hair. And coming across these beauties at Boots for 2 for £2 I was over the moon, the scent is delicate but strong enough to remind me of a spa! Can't wait to try these out!

Hello naturally friendly pink grapefruit mint mouthwash, yes you heard me right pink grapefruit mint mouthwash as a weirdo that I am, for as long as I can remember I've hated the taste and smell of strong mint to a point where I dread brushing my teeth twice a day. When I discovered this for £3.99 at boots I was gobsmacked that I didn't discover it earlier. It has a sweet fruity taste with still a minty after taste which I don't mind too much. I will be deffinatly buying the rest of the grapefruit range!

Last but certainly not least I splurged on the last Topshop powder highlight in moon stone that was there, it's priced at £10 and I'm pretty sure their discontinuing it which is devistanting so I thought id swoop in and buy it before it gets removed. The product gives off just the right amount of shimmer and looks beautiful on pale skin.

Hope you enjoyed my mini haul, and hopefully inspired you to maybe buy a few bits!
Post soon,
Danielle xoxo

Look beauty review!

It's been a while since I did a review on this little blog so I thought I'd update you all, over the past couple of months I've been trying out a few different makeup products from the brand Look Beauty. Now, as I am a bit of a lover of big brands I was sceptical about how well these products would do at their low price and practically non-existent advertisement (of what I've reasearched anyway!) but never the less I thought I'd give a few products a go with an open mind and I was pretty supprised with the out come.

Foundation: Airbrush base foundation in the shade Light 1 -
I have a love/hate relationship with foundations as most of the time every shade is a little too orange or dark for me, I like not being able to feel any product on my skin once the foundation has sunken in, which a lot of them don't do for me. This is a pretty medium to high coverage with a very thick consistency. (similar to M.a.c studio fix foundation) On first application, the colour is rather light with a yellow undertone and gives the skin a flawless finish with only just that one coat, due to its consistency. Beacause it is so thick, it no doubt needed powder to set, so it doesn't smudge around all day. The lasting power is pretty good, with it lasting all day without smudging but all in all I would probably give this a 7/10 only due to the fact I personally prefer a thinner constancy and lighter finish. RRP: £12.00

Mascara #1: Stretch factor -
I'm so so picky when it comes to mascaras, I usually stick to my trusty side kick the Lash Potion by Revlon and nothing will be as good as that one, so I didn't want to judge these mascaras by comparing it to my favorite as that would not be fair. The wand on this mascara is one I have not seen before, on one side it has a lot of short bristles and the other side there are long flexible bristles making it practically two different wands. The out come of this? After two coats it gives unbelievable length but practically no volume... RRP: £5.00

Mascara #2 Lash attack -
On the other hand, this beauty has a long flexible wand with an upside down, sturdy tapered end that gets the hard to get corner lashes brilliantly! The out come? Two coats of this mascara only is gives pretty good volume but hardly any length, so I then came to the conclusion of putting the two together would make this the ultimate mascara! Supprisingly enough together they make an extreme lash combo, that is a runner up to my holy grail lash potion, but at the fraction of the price! RRP: £5.00

All in all, I've been down right impressed with all the bits I've been trying and I'm dying to try out more, the prices are unbelievably cheap, the packaging is über cute and the formulas are comparable to high end products!

Hope you enjoyed this review

Mini Feel Unique haul {1}

Hello my lovelies,
So this morning I got visited by my lovely postman with a Feel Unique package full of wonderful goodies! First off I would like to point out that the sweet people at Feel Unique have packaged these products beautifully with millions of those styrafone nuggets that keep the products in place and out of harms way. So it was refreshing to know that my items where safely packaged throughout of their journey to my home. On to the products;

Firstly I recieved the oh so famous EMMA HARDIE AMAZING FACE CLEANSING BALM, due to the fact everyone and their mother is obsessed with the contents of this little pot I thought I would splurge on myself and buy the 100ml pot. Rrp £34.00 makes it a very expensive little pot of luxuries. First impression; it's a very highly scented balm of Moringa (obviously) so if you are one for no scents then this may bother you but for me it's fine, the texture of this balm is much different than what I was expecting, it's more of a hard soap texture than a 'balm' as it was described, but I'm very excited to try it out.

Next was the REDKEN EXTREME ANTI-SNAP SERIUM, RRP £14.75 250ml I'm super impressed with the size of this bottle as I was expecting something much smaller for the price, the scent again is quite powerful as is most of the Redken range, the texure feels very smooth and silky and I am hoping this will plump up my hair with moisture.

BIOTHERM BLUE THERAPY NIGHT OIL RRP £44.00 30ml (sample size) this was a sample I recieved from Feel Unique as one of their advent calendar freebies so I haven't done much research on this product but I'm interested to try it out, and I'm sure to let you know if it has helped with my dry skin I get in the winter (fingers crossed!!!)

PLEATS PLEASE PERFUME SAMPLE RRP £67.50 £100ml (sample size) again this was a freebie due to the fact I spent over a certain amount of money. First impressions of this sample was that it was light and fresh but after wearing it in for a few hours now it turns out to be quite musky with a warm undertone, perfect for winter! I'm not a huge fan on it at the moment but I can tell its one that with probably grow on me after wearing it a few times, so who knows I may even purchase the full size!

Last but not least I received CAUDALIE HUILE DEVINE OIL RRP £27.00 100ml (sample) lastly again a free sample I got, this is supposedly a multipurpose oil for both hair and skin not something I would purchase on my own but I will give it a fair trial and again you never know what may happen it may be love at first sight!!

So that's everything I received in my feel unique package if you want a full review on any of the products please let me know, and I'm going to be posting much much more! Hopefully at least 4 times a week! Yay! See you all soon, hope your enjoying December and indulging in both food and beauty products! Post soon! X

My Bath and Shower Routine!

Hello my lovelies,

I know its been a couple of weeks since I've posted anything! I've just been overwhelmingly busy with my youtube! But I promised myself I would blog more often, so here I am! Obviously by the title im going to show you all the products I use before, in and after my bath/shower so lets get started..

Before bath/shower

Before I hope into the shower or bath I obviously want to take my makeup off I like using the Johnson's face care daily essentials refreshing facial cleansing wipes (wow that's a mouth full!) I enjoy using these ones in particular as they aren't as harsh on my skin as other face wipes and their super wet which is a real plus for me! To take off my eye makeup I love love love the Lancomé Bi-facial just because it seems to get everything off with one swipe! And it doesn't sting! After all that I like to finish off with my trusty Liz Earle Hot cloth cleanse & Polish, this stuff is amazing its so creamy and lightweight I actually enjoy cleansing my face, its a pleasure to have on my skin. Thanks Liz! haha.

During bath/shower

As I have mentioned many many times before, this is my fave shampoo and conditioner Tresemmé Keratin smooth duo! I like to shampoo twice then leave the conditioner in for a good five minutes, during this time I wash and shave myself (forgot pictures!) I use the beautifully scented Soap and Glory Clean on me shower wash It makes my skin lovely and smooth and really hydrated!

After bath/shower

Once I am out of the bath/shower I pop my hair in a towel so it can partially dry, dry off my body and start with my body care. To moisturize my skin I use Johnson's body care 24h moisture extra-rich body lotion with added oil, as I have extremely dry skin this isn't enough moisture for me so I like to mix that body lotion with about 5 drops of the Coco skin vitamin E therapy oil it gives me a load of moisture and makes my skin so so soft! After I obviously put deodorant on as I want to prevent getting smelly especially if I have just showered. I use Soft & Gentle in melon, I like the smell and it does the job. (I don't want anything fancy on my pits anyway!) Once I have finished making myself all soft I like to moisturize my hands (as they like to crack a lot) I have been loving the smell of honey lately so I have been really enjoying the Boots own honey body butter its smells like heaven! (And it doesn't leave a greasy feeling on my hands once ive rubbed it in.)

I then take my hair down from the towel and by this time its usually about 50% dry, I like using Got2b guardian angel heat protection spray as a detangeler as it does a fab job at making me hair super easy to brush through and I like the fact that I've got heat protection too! I then brush my hair out with my Tangle teezer this brush is the bees knees, you need it in your life! It makes brushing thick, long bushy hair 100000 times easier! After brushing I go onto oil I first put in a heavy oil at the ends I am currently using Mogadore hair oil it does the job but I do prefer the Macadamia oil I just like the price difference for the same volume of product the Mogadore is around £5.00 while the Macadamia is around £30.00 so there is a huge difference in price. After applying the heavy oil to the ends of my hair I like to give my roots a bit of oil as well and I am loving the Macadamia hair oil spray its really light to I can get away with spraying it all over!

And that's it! I don't do an awful lot but enough to keep my skin happy!
I hope you enjoyed this post and I will be posting my January favorites in a couple days so watch out for that!
Thanks for reading, post soon.

Review // TRESemme Keratin Smooth shampoo & conditioner

Hello my lovely's, (why do I always seem to start my posts off with that? Seems to be a habbit!)

So, before I start I think it would be appropriate to let you know about my hair in the past how much I dye it yada yada. From the age of 14 I started to dye my hair, so it was 2009 and that stage of my life I was exploring with makeup and hair so I could feel and look a little different. I dyed my hair red (using Schwarts kopft Live colour XXL Red Passion 43), now my goal at the time was getting the brightest red hair possible! It started off as a dark burgundy/brownish red (as my natural hair is really dark brown anyway, so getting it bright red without bleach took some time!) after a good two years of getting my hair super bright red it got to a point where my hair was damaged and brittle and the red practically faded after one wash. So at the start of 2012 I thought I should ditch the red hair dye and give my hair a little rest and pamper it with the loads of different hair masks I dyed my hair my natural hair colour so I didn't have to dye it again. After a month of pampering my hair I wanted to try dying it again but this time blonde, and even though the hairdressers told me "you'll never get the red out of your hair without your hair falling out!" Turns out hairdressers don't know much, well mine didn't anyway. I currently use Live Colour XXL Max Blonde (00B). But my hair seems to take to colour pretty well, Im lovely and blonde and no hair fall out. Although as you may know any amount of hair dye will damage your hair just a little.

I have never really found a shampoo/conditioner that really wowed me and was a real miracle to my hair. And before last week I was sure they didn't exist. I even tried the Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo & Conditioner combo that everyone seems to be raving about so I bought the big bottles expecting some sort of magic to repair my dry, bleached hair. But it made my hair so so so straw like it felt like I washed my hair with bleach, I hated it! Then last week I found the miracle I was looking for TRESemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo and Conditioner combo. Wowowow I can not express to you how amazing this duo is! I was a bit skeptical at first as I found it in the shop Savers on sale for £2.99 each, I thought they wouldn't do much and just be an OK Shampoo & Conditioner that I had experienced many many times before with other brands. (incl; V05 smooth me softly duo & Lush Squeaky Green Shampoo bar with Retread Conditioner) But turns out they are my holy grail duo!

£2.99 for 500ml is an absolute bargain if you ask me, on the back it reads;

Our Philosophy
From our origins in salons we've always had a simple vision: to create stylist-tested, salon quality products without the salon price tag, so you can experience that salon feeling everyday.

This Product
Transforms your hair to be smoother, straighter and easier to style with New Tresemme keratin smooth, Infused with Keratin, each product reduces frizz and leaves hair gorgeously sleek and manageable  Tresemme keratin smooth shampoo/conditioner nourishes each strand to leave hair gorgeously smooth, shiny and manageable. Formulated without sodium chloride - suitable for use after a salon keratin treatment. Gently enough for colour treated hair.

Whatever this combo says it does, it actually does! It makes my hair smooth, tangle free, nourished and it also defines my curls. It gets rid of my frizz and makes my hair look fabulously luxurious like I have naturally beautiful hair. And that's all after one use! It makes your hair feel so so clean and soft, I like to pair it with the  Moroccan hair oil to give my hair extra moisture.

Both the Shampoo and Conditioner have these handy dandy pumps to dispense the product that you will find on all of the Tresemme hair care range. It makes it much easier to get the product out and much more hygienic, not like the Lush hair care which is a pain in the bum to use without getting water in the product, grr.

I literally can't tell you how much I LOVE these products they have changed my hair condition forever. Everytime I wash my hair it feels like I've just been to the hairdressers and I've had a moisture mask put on it, amazing!! The shampoo is very easy to lather up and it doesn't leave a residue on the hair likes most shampoos do, the conditioner is basically a hair mask in a bottle and makes my hair tangle free, they are both beautifully scented with the smell of a luxury salon and leaves the hair not weighed down just lovely and clean. I would recommend this to everyone, I love it.

Now if you don't mind, I would like some alone time with my babies...

hehe, GO BUY THIS DUO NOW, GO GO GO!!!

Post soon, Love Dannie! xx

First mini haul of 2013

Hiya, so this is my first blog which is super exciting! I decided to start a blog especially for mini hauls and OOTDs that are too little to put in a video or reviews and things that i would rather write about than show! So yay!

I didn't buy much today as I only went to my local shopping center and I am also trying to save, which clearly is really easy for me due to the amount of shopping I do, evidently. I went into lots of different shops but nothing seemed to tickle my fancy besides the charity shops! Some days I just go into a charity shop and find use for everything and have an eye to alter something to make it more stylish. Clearly today was one of those days! First I stumbled into the British Heart Foundation actually looking for books but ended up buying a bag!  I L.O.V.E the dog tooth print on this bag its very 50s/Audrey Hepburn esque! I can just see myself with this bag in the crook of my arm, extra large sunnies on with my trench coat walking in the park in the early spring, erh, to die for i'd say! And what a bargain at £5.00!! AND to top it off it came with a gorgeous matching scarf for free! Just take me back to the 50s!

Still trying to find some books I hopped into Oxfam and found the most beautiful skirt, now this is where my little creative eye came out!

Personally I wouldn't wear the skirt at this length as its not my style to I am going to alter it to make it into a shorter 'rah rah' skirt and make it high waisted for that very 40s style! I also love the print of this it reminds me of a mix of old africa and india. This beautiful piece is going to be wonderful in the summer time with a black bandeau and either nude heels to dress it up or white converse to dress it down and make it more caj! For such an amazing piece it cost me only £4.00 woohoo!

Going into the British Red Cross shop was my second to last shop I visited, in there a found the cutest little china dish with a beautiful whimsical design on the front.

I thought this sweet piece would look perfect with my perfumes placed top as it matches my shabby chic style room perfectly!

This cutie was only £1.50 so I couldn't say no!
Lastly I quickly popped into superdrug to have a look at the Kate Moss by Rimmel London matte lipsticks to see what what all the hype was about, I ended up buying one because everyone especially Leanne Woodfull recommended them highly so I HAD to go check them out. I bought the coral one called Rossetto/Rouge a levers in number 110, its a gorgeous red/orange lipstick which looks lovely with pale skin. RRP £5.59.

I also came across the Collection 2000 (which I believe is now called Collection?) Cream Puff moisturizing lip creams which I have bought before but it ran out so i got two more! In the colours Fairy Cake 3 and Cotton Candy 1. RRP £2.99 each.

left - fairy cake 1 // right - cotton candy 3
top - cotton candy 3 // middle - fairy cake 1

They are similar colours to each other but cotton candy 1 is a little darker which would give a more intense look where as the fairy cake 3 resembles the colour of my lips so I can easily wear it on a daily basis!

So that was everything that I got today I know it wasn't a lot but I love everything I bought and im glad I didn't spend all my money for once! (woohoo!) In the end I still didn't find the book i wanted considering that was the reason I went shopping in the first place... haha!
Anyway, I hope you all had lovely days too and Ill update you soon!
Love Dannie xx
