May beauty favourites 2016

After a few months of not blogging I'm finally back with full force and I'm ready to post regularly again.

Today I thought I would share a few things I have been loving through out this month. Not only have I been really enjoying many makeup and beauty products but I also have been loving some foodie items!

Since the weather has been so lovely here in England, I've been all about that GLOW, and to help me achieve that I've been really enjoying the Topshop pressed highlighter in 'Cresent Moon'. As a fairly pale lady (when I say pale, I mean white like paper) it's a fab champagne toned highlighter full of micro glitter that leaves a very intense sheen which is perfect for my fair skin! At a pretty decent price of £10.00 for 6.5 grams, it's a must have in my everyday makeup kit.

Keeping the makeup theme, I have recently discovered the new Loreal cushion foundation in the shade '01 porcelain' which I have found to be the perfect coverage for the days I am at work, when I need a little something but not too much coverage. I apply the product with a buffing brush and usually layer it up to 4 or 5 coats. The great thing about this is that it's so light that you can apply as many layers as needed and it will never cake up. It costs £9.99 and comes in a handy little compact with a mirror and a flat sponge.

Lastly on the beauty section I've been obsessed with this huge pot of loveliness from the brand Calcot Manor. The Lazy Evening Moisture SoufflĂ© is a gorgeously scented body moisturiser that I use after my bath in the evenings after a long day. The deep woody with a slight fruity scent really helps me to wind down and relax for the night and for a mere £6.00 you can get this massive 500ml tub at your local Tesco! I defiantly have to check out more of the Calcot Manor products as I'm in love with this body butter!

On the flip side, over the past few months I have been trying to get into more of a healthy lifestyle by eating more fruit and vegetables and going to the gym more. I've also been loving snacking on raw veggies rather than impulsingly buying crisps or chocolate, but I will go into depth in another blog post, I may even do a what I eat in a day or healthy recipes sort of post!

That's it! I hope you've enjoyed this months favourites. This month should be a good one as its my birthday month (woohoo) ((21st on the 10th of June)) and it's also officially summer so expect lots of summery outfit posts!

Post soon,
Love Danielle xoxo

Update | inexpensive skin care for clear skin

Since I started this little blog of mine a few years ago, I have done more than a few different skin care routines. The only problem was that they all seemed to be based around high end products. Which present day self can no longer afford (due to house moving and such!) So I thought I would switch it up and try a few less expensive goodies that were easily accessible and low in price. Surprisingly, I'm pretty over the moon with the wonders this concoction has done to my skin. My cheeks are no longer overly pigmented, I have no break outs and there isn't a dry patch of skin in sight! (Which is shocking as it is -1 here in England and usually my skin would go crazy!) So, let's get onto all my lotions and potions!

Evening -

Once I get home from a long day at work there is no better feeling than taking off all that makeup I've been wearing though out the day! So I start off with a few cotton pads soaked in my Garnier Micellar water and in circling motions, I removed most of my eye and face makeup. I usually end up using three cotton pads, two for each of my eyes and one for my face and neck. (RRP: £3.33)

Moving onto cleanser, in the evening I like to wind down with a cream cleanser that will clean my skin but won't wake me up with a strong scent. I've been loving the No7 Beautiful skin cleansing balm and a muslin cloth to remove any left over makeup, dirt and grime. (RRP: £9.50)

Next is a new step I've added into my routine, toner. I never thought I would be a toner lover due to my dry skin, but oh man was I so wrong. Toners can come in many varieties to suit all sorts of skin types, it's a great way to rebalance your ph levels in your skin and really prep your face ready for moisturising. You may just have to keep your eyes peeled for a dry skin one though, as they seem to be like gold dust. (If you are on the hunt for one, look out for rose oil in the ingredients, this usually is targeted for us dry skin folk) Happily for me I found one in the shape of a Glossybox goodie. The Kueshi pure and clean facial toner. (RRP: £6.00)

A few times a week I like to give my new skin cells some life with a lovely scrub. The one I've been obsessed with is the Body Shop tea tree scrub, it has very tiny vigarating beads which really get in there and remove all of that dead skin. It has a really revitalising scent which helps you to wake up in the morning which is a bonus! (RRP: £6.50)

Moving onto face masks, as we all know I am the number one fan of Montagne Jeunesse, all of their masks are to dye for and at £1.00 each there really isn't anything to complain about!

Moisturises can be tricky at night, as you want them to be light enough to sink in but heavy enough to actually help your skin out. I've been really enjoying the Garnier moisture match for dry to very dry skin, it really replenishes the moisture in my face and leaves it feeling velvety soft the morning after. (RRP: £3.99)

Treatments -
I like to finish off my routine with a thirst quenching eye cream, which I've been using for around 2 years, it is the Simple radiance brightening eye cream, it makes fine lines disappear and brightens up my eyes by removing the dark circles. If a sudden rouge spot pops up, I love the zap! zap! zap! gets that chap spot treatment by Anatomicals. I can easily get rid of it in 12 hours or less with this duo day and night spot treatment, it's a life saver. (RRP: £3.89) Lastly I top it all off with a moisturising lip balm. I usually use any that I can get my mitts on, but lately I've been drawing more towards the Superfruits naked lips to keep my smackers plumped up. It doesn't have an offensive smell like most others and I can really feel it sink in. (RRP: £3.78)

Morning -
As I am neither an early riser nor a night owl, getting up in the morning is a pain in itself. So I like to keep my getting ready time as short as possible to get optimum lie in time. So I usually wipe my face round with some of my Micellar water to wake me up and moisturise with the Garnier moisture match for normal skin to prep my face ready for makeup. (RRP: £3.99) Because who would chose 10 minutes of skin care over 10 minutes extra in bed? Not me that's for sure!

So as a grand total my skin care routine comes to...

£42.07!

Not too bad considering it used to be over £100! So it costs you just over £40 to have smooth beautiful looking skin! As you know I'm always on the look out for new goodies to try, so if you have any suggestions please leave them below!

Hope you enjoyed!
Post soon,

November Glossybox | Unboxing

This months Glossybox wasn't themed, so it was just your normal lovely baby pink box! Which I'm happy with! Perfect for using as separators in your vanity. So with out further a due, let's go onto the products! I received 5 products in this box with 2 full sized products too!

Burt's Bees natural lip shine in Blush. This was the only product that I got this month that I would of actually purchased, potentially. It's a lovely sheer gloss that I'm sure will come in useful.

Monu Hawaii facial treatment oil. This lovely 'spa' like smelling oil is a facial treatment that you apply after cleaning and toning. You can also use this as a face mask in oil form by warming it up in the palm of your hands and massaging it in.

H20+ hydrating treatment. This is pretty similar to the Monu oil but a much smaller sample that won't go very far. It is the same process as applying, but I'm not sure why they decided it would be a good idea to put two very similar products in the same box but one being a 30ml sample and the other being a 8ml sample.

2 True pro Sparkles nail glitters. This is a very simple gold glitter that will come in handy for nail design. Even though I have many gold glitter pots already, another one in my collection won't hurt!

Lollipops Paris eyeliner in 701 Goodbye Moon. This is your simple twist up black khole eyeliner by a brand that I haven't heard of before but I'm sure it is good either way. I don't usually wear pencil eyeliner but it may come in handy one day!

So that is everything, I didn't love this box as much as last months due to products that I probably won't use. But let's hope the Christmas box will be better! Hope you enjoyed, make sure you follow me on bloglovin' to keep up to date with all my blog posts!

Inside my beauty essentials bag

No matter the weather or where I am going I always carry my little emergency pack with me, filled with all sorts of beauty goodies that I would feel lost without. I bought this beauty of a bag at a little boutique called Glow and Co which I did mention a few posts ago. It has this beautiful pop art esque design in front of a vibrant pink background! Most defiantly up my street and it was only £11.00, bargain.

First off in my bag of goodies I have some roll on deodorant, for obvious reasons. Nobody likes the smell of bio, now come on! My personal favourite is the tesco's own brand in the blue fresh scent.

I then have some lady items including tampons and some feminine deodorant and yes us girls have the problem with a wiffy woohoo from time to time so I have no shame in saying I use one! Haha! Girl power!

I also like to keep my miracle hair product with me, the Schwarzkopf BC bonacure colour freeze treatment, this beauty of a serums, it will clear up any frizz immediately with only a pea sized amount! Worth a buy, but a little hard to find I got mine at my local Sally's beauty supply, or you can alternitavly purchase it from a local Schwarzkopf hair dressers!

Lastly I like to keep a small pocket mirror, for any makeup touch-ups, a few kirby grips, some headphones and the lipstick I am rocking that day. Today I am wearing the Loreal collection exclusive in Liyas pure red!

Hope you enjoyed!

Autumnal makeup picks 2014

If you know me in person you will know I like to rock the bold, dark lips and severe winged eyeliner on an everyday basis. So when it comes to choosing my autumn makeup picks, the decision was easy as pie. I have a variety of different products ranging from eyeliner to foundation.

A pale girl like myself can be quite hard to buy foundation for so when I saw this beauty that I also featured in my recent September favourites posts, not putting it into my top picks would be unthinkable. The Loreal Infallable 24h foundation in porcelain is the perfect cool toned foundation is just right for the pale girl that I am! At an RRP price of £12.99 it's a complete bargain!

To coincide with this lovely foundation my number one concealer is the cult favourite Collection lasting perfection concealer in 01 fair, this heavy duty product really does hide all sins including under eye circles and any nasty spots. It dries to a powder finish, so no need to powder after! And at a price of £4.99 a bottle, it's my go to concealer!

Moving on to eyebrows I've really been enjoying the MUA lux eyebrow pencil in dark blonde. It's retractable, it's ashy, it's perfect! Everything I need in an eyebrow product, it's a great value at £2.99 so worth picking up!

Eyes! Obviously I had to include some gel eyeliner and my current obsession is the Loreal gel eyeliner in black, it's a 'life proof' eyeliner that doesn't budge for anything! It's at a price of £10.99 a product I only need to buy once every six months!

Going with the eyes I had to include my all time favourite mascara, which is the Barry M showgirl volume mascara which gives your lashes that fake look without wearing the falsies! £4.99 is the price of perfection!

Lastly I wanted to pop in a lipstick and this berry lip is perfect for this time of year. Avon lipstick in golden wine, the glossy-ness of it really hydrates your lips but doesn't move around like other glossy lip products. It does climb up the pricier scale of lipsticks at £17.99 a pop, but it's so worth it for this multi-tonal beauty!

(Tools are both Real Techniques and can be picked up online or in your local Boots or Superdrug store.)

Hope you all enjoyed my Autumn makeup picks!

July favourites!

So it's come to that time of the month again where I share my highs and lows, best and worst, hits and misses of my month. And boy do I have some hook-line-and-sinkers for July! Not only was the weather absolutely gorgeous but my skin and my happiness is on the rise! I'm betting that the sun and my boyfriend did the majority of that work! Most of my time has been mainly spent on Pintertest when I'm not at work (follow me here) which gives me lots of home decor ideas and most shamefully Christmas diy's. Guess it's never too early to start! Now onto my main loves!

Not too many this month, but some have been multi functional, ie spot the real techniques brushes!

No doubt there would have been a makeup brush or two in my faves! These two are my current obsessions, the buffing brush and contour brush which can both be found in the Core collection for £21.99 which includes two other brushes which you can buy here or from your local Boots store!

Another one of my obsessions has no supprise been the Harry Potter books, I'm currently starting to read them in order and I'm about half way through the Chamber of Secrets, if you know me well, this will come as no supprise to you as Harry Potter is practically my life! Can be bought cheaply on EBay or in your local bookshop! RRP: between £5 and £10.

Moving on to makeup and skin care, my face has been practically melting I'm this heat so light to medium coverage foundation is perfect for me, I'm in love with the Loreal Infallible 24h In the lightest shade 015 Porcelain (supprise, supprise!!) I blend it with my Real Tecniques Buffing brush and they are a perfect duo, this is now my third bottle! RRP: £9.99 Buy here.

Another love for the summer is long fluttery eyelashes without actually wearing falsies, and to achieve that I skeptically bought the Maybelline Illegal length mascara and it supprised me! The length it gave was fenomanal and for only £8.99 you can't go wrong, buy here.

Last but certainly not least at the end of the day when everything's all said and done, it's time to remove the glob of makeup and my number 1 cleanser is the No7 a Beautiful skin cleansing balm for dry skin. Beautiful smelling product that makes your skin feel so plump and hydrated. During the summer weather, I do have pretty normal skin (dry in the winter) but this makes my skin a whole lot plumper than the normal one. And with the Boots £5 skin voucher you commonly get I believe you can pick this baby up for around £6.00, buy here!!! Now I'm just hunting for a inexpensive cleansing brush... Off online shopping I go!

Thanks for reading,
If you could recommend a electronic, inexpensive cleansing brush, let me know!

My bath time essentials!

For me personally I'm a huge fan of having a bath it really warms me up on a cold winter night and it's a great way to chill out and relax for a mere 15 minutes. Now when I can be bothered to run myself a bath (as usually I shower) I go all out, I pop a few candles on turn the lights low and use some really rich and nutritious products which I can indulge in.

One bath company I have deffinatly been converted too is Lush they sell the most beautifully scented organic and natural bath products that really do what it says on the tin. A personal favourite of mine is the Comforter bath ballistic which you can purchase here and if your unsure of how to use a bath ballistic they are basically these large slabs of heaven that you crumble under hot running water which created huge bubbles, a colourful bath and a fabulously scented aroma. To be quite frank I do buy this particular bath ballistic at least three times a month which can get a little expensive but it's totally worth it!

Another company that everyone and their mother is in love with (including my mum and I) is Soap and glory which can be found in most Boots stores. I'm a lover of their body washes and scrubs so the ones I will be using this evening is the Clean, clean girls body wash which you can buy here and the Scub 'em and leave 'em body buff which you can also purchase here

Once I've finished day dreaming in the tub I hop out dry my self down and use the Girligo moisturizing body mist also from soap and glory which you can buy here. It's much lighter than a body lotion as it comes out in a spray pump, takes seconds to rub and sink in and still feel as moisturizing as a lotion, genius

Time for bed I think! Hope you enjoyed today's chilled out post, if you want a bit more of me head on over to my YouTube HERE where I uploaded a new video this morning! Happy bathing!

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014!

So, it's that time of year again where everyone looks back and shares their highs and lows of the past year. For me, I will be no different to the rest so I thought it might be interesting for you (and potentially my future self) to review the past year. Highs and lows.

Unfortunately 2013 was deffinatly not my year due to the fact that I got diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety issues (more details on that on a later note) became jobless due to my health, and had all happiness taken out of me. I personally want to move on from this as soon as possible due to the fact that it takes over your whole life and personally for me I get weeks even months where I can't even leave the house without having a panic attack or working my self up with stress that I exhaust myself out. If any of you want me to do a blog post or a video about my issues then feel free to let me know because I'll be happy to talk about it even if it helps one person get to grips with theirs by relating, it's worth it. But on a more positive note 2013 was the year I started this little blog and my youtube! So lots of hits and misses! To be perfectly honest I'm ever so glad this year is finally over due to the fact how rubbish it was for me and I'm determined to make 2014 my year!

Looking forward onto the year ahead I have a few resolutions that I thought I could share with you all and maybe you can use these for yourself as well!

1: (obviously) Get over my issues. Now this is probably my biggest and most unrealistic of my resolutions but there's no harm in trying even if it's just getting out the house once a week.

2: Pay more attention to both my blog and youtube. As you know from Wednesdays post I did quickly mention about my new schedule and I'm determind to stick with it, considering I'm not doing anything else with my time why not put all my energy to something useful rather than mindlessly watching pointless tv shows for hours on end with a vacant zombie expression on my face in my pjs.

3: Eat more healthy. Ie fruit & vegetables and 3 meals a day, unfortunately since I've been home I've gotten into the rotten habit of snacking all day and never having a decent meal thus under eating. Which on a plus side has helped shift my weight but not good for my body and even my health is taking an effect from it now!

4: Start having a normal body clock and sleep at normal hours. Ironically I'm writing this at 1am but i know that I'll wake up tomorrow around 2pm which is a really really bad habit I've left myself slip into!! So from now on I am setting a strict rule of sleeping at 11pm and waking up at 8am (eep, gunna be hard for a night owl like myself!!

Hopefully come December, I can look back and see how well I did with my resolutions! What are your resolutions did you stick to yours from last year? Let me know!!

Update & Week In Pictures // #3

Hello my beauties!!

It has been a wee while since I blogged! (shocking I know) and if you've been following me on my twitter then you will know why, if you don't then ill give you a little heads up on whats been happening in the past month in the world of Dannie!

Firstly surprising to hear I finally found a job, which is the main reason why I've been so MIA these past weeks. I wont go into too much detail as I don't want everyone and their mum knowing where im located! haha. But I will say Im basically in an office job (boreeee) and yep it may not be the best job in the world but I needed one desperately as Im at that awkward age where I don't get child support as Im not a classed as a 'child' anymore and Im not old enough to claim benefits as Im not classed as an 'adult' either.. So im neither a child nor an adult, fantastic, So I am a nothing. Anyway I guess Im glad I got a job because when i turn 18 I didn't really want to turn to benefits, its just not the sort of thing I would want to do. So Im in it for the money on this one! Hopefully my beauty/makeup career kicks in soon because as you all know that is my real passion. I have been working 6 days a week and on the 7th I have been dancing, so a no-can-do on the blogging and videoing side! But now that I am on my shift hours I will be back on track with this and also Youtube. #firstdayoffin3weekswoohoo!

Anyways, want to know what I've been doing lately... in pictures? Well your in luck!

Left to Right - Prepped & Clean Dressing Table // Selfie, Mothers day meal // Obsession with the Professor Layton games // #snapbacksunday pic of my Mumma and myself // My healthy snacks (berrys, nuts & fruit & a breakfast bar) // My leaving presents from my old work (Cat wind-chime, xoxo mug, & a kitty card) // My takeaway cup dilemmas i.e. lipstick stains // My cloudy and I // My beautiful Eden and myself at dancing!

Whats in my handbag? // 2013

Hiya my lovelys!

Today I thought id show you whats in my bag, I know this tag has gone round youtube time and time again and its coming back! So my bag changes as the season changes so maybe I will do a summer version when the seasons change and the weather gets a little hotter.

My bag is a dog tooth/ hound tooth print, I have featured it many times in my blog before so you can find more about it here, I talk about where I got it from and how much and things so if you like it go check it out.
Also I apologies for the heavy picture content!
Take a sneak peak and lets get started! ...

Its a medium sized bag and I feel it seems to fit everything in just right and without it being too heavy. As you can see I don't take too many things, just the essentials. I also usually keep a water bottle to keep me hydrated throughout the day but I couldn't find one to put in for this post, so just pretend there's one there!

Umbrella
Obviously, as I live in England it rains practically 90% of the time so I always have to be prepared for a downfall. This umbrella is from Primark and it was £4.00 im pretty sure they still stock it so go check it out if you want.

Purse
I got this pure for Christmas but im pretty sure its also from Primark, not sure if its still in stock but its a pretty simple purse that you can find in most department stores, It has lovely gold hardware and two places to put your loose change, as you can see in the main one i put all my receipts. My name tag is actually from my cousins wedding she had them as name tags around the wine glasses and they were doubled up as table placements as well, cute idea.

Vanity Items
I don't like to take much makeup/toiletry's with me as my makeup seems to stay put bar my lipstick and carrying a huge makeup bag around will just weigh my bag down even more. I keep my all time favorite perfume in my bag No'5 Chanel Paris, I am in love with the muskyness of this perfume, It will always be my favorite! I also keep my lipstick in my bag, obviously swapping it out with each day so I can top up thought the day. Today im wearing Bourjois Paris lipstick in 01 sweet kiss. Also, I keep a nail file which will come in handy when i get a split nail.

Notepad & pen
I like to keep my diary with me at all times just in case i get inspired with a new YouTube video idea or a new post idea for this blog! Also, I obviously have my diary with me to keep myself organised though out the day and to make sure I don't forget anything i need to do!

Keys
And last but no means least, the most important thing in my bag, my keys. Self explanatory really! Got my house key, bike key and other key charms!

This is how I wear my bag! I hope you enjoyed seeing whats in my handbag!
Post soon, Love Dannie xxx

Appreciation and Society

Isnt it funny how you don't appreciate something until its gone?

Hi guys, today Im going to discuss a topic which has been bugging me, appreciation. Now you may be thinking "well what has this got to do with beauty?" Well it can be, its like you wake up in the morning, do your makeup until you realize . I'VE RUN OUT OF FOUNDATION now if you didn't run out, this wouldn't of crossed your mind you would of done your makeup and thats that, but you just expect it to be there ready to use and you wouldnt of appreciated having it in the first place. Or if you were going to wash your face, you would expect the water to be there...

This is what happened to me! For the past couple of weeks our household has not had any hot water, so no hot shower, no hot baths, no washing up water, no hot water to wash your hands. And its made me realize how much we just expect things to be there, we need to realize how lucky we were to have hot water in the first place. People still live on this planet who don't have hot water or clean water or basic food. Were as we just expect to have it. Spaghetti Bolognase is not an essential, Lush products arn't essentials, these are privileges. And I feel that society has taught us to expect to have these things, we are so lucky to have what we have, but we don't think about it until its taken away from us.

We rely on these things/products and don't stop to see how lucky we really are! I mean look around you, you clearly own a laptop/computer/phone or you wouldn't be reading this in the first place, my cat is purring away next to me, if I wasn't as lucky as I am she wouldn't be here and I wouldn't be able to afford her.

What im trying to say when it comes down to it is, don't complain about not having the newest Foundation/Lipstick. Appreciate and use the ones you do have and just be thankful for having a roof over your head, the hot water in the pipes and the food on your table.

Appreciate what you have while you have it, because one day it might not be there anymore.

Our society has taught us that its not fashionable to leave the house without makeup, its not fashionable to get your clothes/accessories from a charity shop, its not fashionable to buy your makeup from pound-land.

So what if you don't wear makeup? So what if you buy your clothes from a charity shop? So what if you buy makeup from pound-land. Society has turned into something very ugly lately and it makes me sick to think people will look down on you if you don't wear the latest fashion, wear what you want to wear because you can! Just because its not the in thing to do doesn't mean its wrong.

Take the Urban Decay Naked palette/Naked II palette for example, whats the point in spending over £30.00 if you can buy basically exactly the same product for £4.00. We think these brands are luxury, high-end brands when in fact they are exactly the same as the drugstore brands just majorly over priced. We don't buy for the product anymore we buy for the name of the Brand. You more likely to watch to someone YouTube who spends loads of money on these brands than a person who never buys makeup for more than £10.00. Why? because we are very shallow people. And we seem to think the bigger the price tag is the more experienced they seem. No, these people have the money to splash out everyday on expensive brands, but it doesn't mean their better than than anyone else at applying makeup it just means they have a higher income than others.

Never judge a book by its cover, just because a makeup artist uses cheap makeup doesn't mean their a bad makeup artist.

Remember this and you wont be as shallow as society will have you believe.

Thanks for reading and im sorry if I offended anyone I just wanted to put my point across.

Post soon! Love Dannie xx

Best & Worst high-street products of 2012 Tag

Hiya everyone, so today im doing my first tag. Now I saw this on Megans' blog (britishbeautygeek) which she posted a couple of days ago, although I've only been following her blog for a short time, shes a lovely girl so make sure you check her blog out!

I thought this was the perfect time for me to do this tag as it is 2013 and I wanted to look back and see what I've enjoyed this past year, so lets get on with it...

Question 1-
What was your favorite high-street make-up brand of 2012?
This was such an easy question to answer and no doubt will it be anyone but Sleek. Now this may be an odd brand to chose as most people would go for Rimmel or Revlon, but Sleek really stood out to me this year, not only do they have very suave packaging the pigmentation of their products is amazing.

Sleek eyebrow kit in light // Sleek blush in Pixie Pink

Question 2-
What were your least favorite products of 2012?
I had to ponder about this question for a while but I've come to the realization that i really hated the Bourjois healthy mix foundation, now I know this is a very loved product in the beauty community but unfortunately I was allergic to some ingredience in the foundation and it made my face and eyes swell up like a balloon. The other product that I was super disappointed with was the e.l.f cream eyeliner in black. I was so excited to try this as I fell in love with the Loreal Paris one, so I thought id give the elf one a go as it was half that price and claimed to be waterproof which it was most definitely wasn't, as it traveled half way down my face when it got to the end of the day, so not waterproof at all and It also dried up in the first week of opening. Not great products.

Question 3-
What is the best make-up bargain of 2012?
This HAD to be the Collection 2000 cream puff lip creams, they are matte yet moisturizing and they stayed on all day even after eating and drinking! With amazing RRP of £2.99, you can not go wrong with these!!

Collection 2000 Cream Puff lip creams in Fairy Cake 3 and Cotton Candy 1

Question 4-
Show your best high-street dupe for 2012?
This is practically known by most beauty blogs but the MUA makeup palette in Undressed is an exact dupe for the Urban Decay Naked palette, even the colours are in the same order! (Someone did a little cheating when making this 'original' palette) But im not complaining, at more than half the price I love this palette! RRP £4.00

Question 5-
Which high-street product did you buy in 2012 that wasn't worth the hype?
This may not be classed as a 'beauty' product as such but the Nails Inc nail varnishes weren't that great im my opinion, I bought the colour Elizabeth Street, now I thought it was going to be an opaque application but I had to apply around 6/7 coats to make it sort of opaque but still blotchy! I never bought another colour as I was so disappointed with the first one I bought, and at a price at £10.00 I was expecting MUCH better quality!

Question 6-
Which product wins your award for best high-street product of 2012?
And the winner is....

Topshop lipsticks in Beguilded and Infrared

TOPSHOP LIPSTICKS!!
hooray congrats to the winners, I love these lipsticks as they are so creamy but yet lasting and hides all your nasty dried skin on your lips in the winter, perfect colour range and amazing pigmentation, especially the brighter colours, absolutely wonderful, I recommend these to EVERYONE! RRP £8.00

I hope you enjoyed my 2012 faves I had to chose really carefully with these questions as most of them were so hard to chose from but I think I made the right decisions! Post soon!

Review // Revlon Photoready Foundation

Hey you lovelies, as you can tell im doing a review today, woohoo!
So I bought this foundation about a month ago in boots, at the time this particular foundation was very hyped up in the beauty area of Youtube and the blogging world, I purchased the colour Vanilla 002, which was the lightest shade in Revlons' collection. (although its number 002 was there not an 001?!) At first glance it seems like very high-end with its fancy curved glass bottle and a sleek black lid to match. It has a convenient pump lid which makes getting the product out much easier and very hygienic  The clear glass bottle is very handy as well as you can see how much foundation you have left, because its a pain in the bum when you suddenly run out of foundation and have no back up. Once I took it home and examined it by swatching it on the back of my hand and side of my neck, it seems its much darker on skin than it looks in bottle. Although im not into the whole orange face white neck trend, I still went ahead and used it to see what the hype was about.

After using every last drop of it I have come to the conclusion that it makes me look a lot like a fairy...
What I mean by this is, its so shimmery and glittery it makes your face look like a disco ball, with large glitter particles not helping the situation. However I was very impressed with the coverage, it gives a nice medium to high coverage which would be great for people who suffer with lots of blemishes. The lasting of this foundation isn't that great which is a shame. It would last on someones skin if they aren't moving at all throughout the day, the wind/rain/sweat does make it slide about on your face even with powder to set which isn't very nice to look at. By the end of the day my face was very patchy, still a little bit tacky from the application even though I did set it with powder and I also suffer from dry skin... when I removed my foundation with my lis earle hot cloth cleanser, it was very easy to clean off as it moved about on my face during the day and it seemed half my face didn't have foundation on it and the other half seemed to be very cakey. (not due to my makeup skills haha)

So all in all I would recommend this foundation to someone who has super dry skin, is going somewhere that doesn't brake a lot of sweat and where people will be taking pictures of you, maybe to a family party of something? Other than that I would not recommend this to a friend and I will not be buying this product again. It is was too shimmery for me and I prefer not to have my foundation slide about throughout the day. Pictures below. RRP £7.00 30ml.

I hope you enjoyed my first review! Post soon! Love Dannie xxx

Have you tried this foundation, if you have what did you think of it?

First mini haul of 2013

Hiya, so this is my first blog which is super exciting! I decided to start a blog especially for mini hauls and OOTDs that are too little to put in a video or reviews and things that i would rather write about than show! So yay!

I didn't buy much today as I only went to my local shopping center and I am also trying to save, which clearly is really easy for me due to the amount of shopping I do, evidently. I went into lots of different shops but nothing seemed to tickle my fancy besides the charity shops! Some days I just go into a charity shop and find use for everything and have an eye to alter something to make it more stylish. Clearly today was one of those days! First I stumbled into the British Heart Foundation actually looking for books but ended up buying a bag!  I L.O.V.E the dog tooth print on this bag its very 50s/Audrey Hepburn esque! I can just see myself with this bag in the crook of my arm, extra large sunnies on with my trench coat walking in the park in the early spring, erh, to die for i'd say! And what a bargain at £5.00!! AND to top it off it came with a gorgeous matching scarf for free! Just take me back to the 50s!

Still trying to find some books I hopped into Oxfam and found the most beautiful skirt, now this is where my little creative eye came out!

Personally I wouldn't wear the skirt at this length as its not my style to I am going to alter it to make it into a shorter 'rah rah' skirt and make it high waisted for that very 40s style! I also love the print of this it reminds me of a mix of old africa and india. This beautiful piece is going to be wonderful in the summer time with a black bandeau and either nude heels to dress it up or white converse to dress it down and make it more caj! For such an amazing piece it cost me only £4.00 woohoo!

Going into the British Red Cross shop was my second to last shop I visited, in there a found the cutest little china dish with a beautiful whimsical design on the front.

I thought this sweet piece would look perfect with my perfumes placed top as it matches my shabby chic style room perfectly!

This cutie was only £1.50 so I couldn't say no!
Lastly I quickly popped into superdrug to have a look at the Kate Moss by Rimmel London matte lipsticks to see what what all the hype was about, I ended up buying one because everyone especially Leanne Woodfull recommended them highly so I HAD to go check them out. I bought the coral one called Rossetto/Rouge a levers in number 110, its a gorgeous red/orange lipstick which looks lovely with pale skin. RRP £5.59.

I also came across the Collection 2000 (which I believe is now called Collection?) Cream Puff moisturizing lip creams which I have bought before but it ran out so i got two more! In the colours Fairy Cake 3 and Cotton Candy 1. RRP £2.99 each.

left - fairy cake 1 // right - cotton candy 3
top - cotton candy 3 // middle - fairy cake 1

They are similar colours to each other but cotton candy 1 is a little darker which would give a more intense look where as the fairy cake 3 resembles the colour of my lips so I can easily wear it on a daily basis!

So that was everything that I got today I know it wasn't a lot but I love everything I bought and im glad I didn't spend all my money for once! (woohoo!) In the end I still didn't find the book i wanted considering that was the reason I went shopping in the first place... haha!
Anyway, I hope you all had lovely days too and Ill update you soon!
